for sale that is
noah:
yes wines will be available in new tasting packs
sheryllalexander:
I see. I see. So, the wines will be available in new tastings???
noah:
jmolesworth: bottled with nitrogen, triple sparged, lots of small processes adding up to virtually no oxygen ingress
noah:
most other packs will have all wines available
noah:
this was just a test
noah:
on the out of stock wines...
sheryllalexander:
Yeah. Why ARE so many out of stock? That's befuddling. Why pay the $25 tasting and not be able to purchase?? Seems strange.
christie:
LD
christie:
It is oo bad so many are out of stock. ARe they still available somewhere else?
joshua:
tomorrow the video will be available as an on demand tasting
christie:
We truly enjoyed this tasting and hope you will allow us to do more with you. SEND MORE. Love M & D & D & S
averagezoe:
When is the replay available? I'm at work and will need to taste at home.
heyyumsugar:
Thanks Josh, Noah, Christie, and Raj! Cheers
sheryllalexander:
Bye y'all!! Check out my car column and food writing musings here: http://www.autotropolis.com/autotropolis-columns/driving-smart/
billward4:
Excellent job. Grazie!
bricksofwine:
Cool. Great reference since I didn't have time to write down my comments.
palatepress:
What is this, the Sopranos?
joshua:
thanks every one
joshua:
the comments will be located here with the video after it is posted
edeitch:
Thanks much.
arnotroberts:
cool guys! thanks
averagezoe:
Thanks, this is a great concept!
sheryllalexander:
SUPER COOL! THANK YOU BRIXR!!
palatepress:
And maybe if we're just getting 50ml, the FTC will get off our backs.
bricksofwine:
Will the posts here be permanently located somewhere?
oenophile:
Very nice job to everyone - really enjoyed the wines, and look forward to seeing great things from Brixr!
jmolesworth:
were these samples rebottled with inert gas? they were all fresh and in great shape (except the Font-Sane)...
bricksofwine:
Thanks Christie, Raj and Noah. Looking forward to more of these.
heyyumsugar:
Love this concept. It is honestly brilliant!
wineknow:
Thanks, folks, best tasting of the week!
bricksofwine:
@rickbakas I like that quote too.
brad:
Great Job Raj, Christie, and Noah!
heyyumsugar:
I'm drinking, proofing pizza dough, and fixing to write a story at the same time. I hear you bricksofwine!
rickbakas:
"the stink you like to drink"
venezia:
tastes like mushrooms !
sheryllalexander:
Spitting is necessary, yes. Still kinda gross to watch on video. But we forgive you!! THANKS!!
bricksofwine:
Well, I'm sitting at my desk at work drinking.
palatepress:
Dark chocolate covered figs, the crisp end of prime rib rubbed with blk pepper, touch of green leafy spice ?marjoram?. Lovely stuff.
jyadegaran:
Uh, I'm working too
heyyumsugar:
I LOVE the smoke on the nose in the Gilles Robin, but I do wish it had more ripeness and intensity
jyadegaran:
sheryllalexander: Agreed. Great fun.
jmolesworth:
makes a St.-Joseph too (but very little)...
jmolesworth:
Robin Bouvet - blend of three terroirs, all differing clay (red and brown / deep and shallow)
bricksofwine:
Tobacco
joshua:
lol
bricksofwine:
Definitely smoky
sheryllalexander:
So, what did y'all think of this Brixr tasting? I thought it was VERY cool. Kinda gross watching the guy spit in the bucket. Otherwise, SUPER cool, right?
jyadegaran:
The bacon fat is great. So is the magenta hue
bricksofwine:
A little funk at first but blew off very quickly on the GR
oenophile:
@cellarrat - nothing weird here, maybe it'll blow off. Lots of fruit.
bricksofwine:
The Gilles Robin has a wonderful nose.
jmolesworth:
Gilles Robin Crozes Albéric Bouvet '06 - stony, great cut, cherry pit, tobacco...old school but w/ modern drive.
cellarrat:
serious funk on my crozes Hermitage, others?
jyadegaran:
Rock it with seared ahi steaks or lamb-mint kebabs
palatepress:
One last A-R comment- Guh-REAT food wine.
cellarrat:
that's about 21 brix
heyyumsugar:
It's really growing on me with the lack of oak and dark cherry
bricksofwine:
Unadulterated by oak.
rickbakas:
Refreshing to see a domestic producer going for LESS alcohol in a Syrah.
clarkzterry:
@arnotroberts - nice work
jyadegaran:
Wowzers
rickbakas:
@PalatePress - yep, green olives.
brad:
what is the soil like on clary ranch?
bricksofwine:
Too bad they couldn't duplicate the label exactly on the tiny bottle.
palatepress:
Not a hint of oak on the A-R.
arnotroberts:
picked nov 3rd 2008
rickbakas:
Thanks!
palatepress:
I'd blind guess this Cornas. Green olives, tobacco, mulberry, and limestone.
bricksofwine:
No, it says Sonoma Coast...cold
sheryllalexander:
LOVE this wine! DELICIOUS!!
bricksofwine:
The AR would be a good food wine.
arnotroberts:
100% whole cluster, no new oak :)
billward4:
A gem. Gotta save some for my wife, who just quit smoking and loves that tobacco element.
rickbakas:
Is the A-R hot climate?
bricksofwine:
Good acidity.
oenophile:
@bricksofwine - definitely olive, much more old world characteristics as Raj just mentioned.
jmolesworth:
any whole cluster on the AR, or just earlier harvesting?
heyyumsugar:
A-R definitely tastes a little green.
jyadegaran:
Yeah, it's opening up. So pretty.
noah:
we converted all the sold out wine to tinybottles.
bricksofwine:
Green olives come to mind.
rickbakas:
Mos Def 11.5% is impressive.
oenophile:
Lots of tobacco on the Arnot-Roberts
palatepress:
Arnot is changing by the second.
bricksofwine:
Yeah, I'm getting a little veggie on the nose with the AR.
wineknow:
50 ml folks, 1.7 ounces
jyadegaran:
I absolutely love the Arnot-Roberts. 11.5. Hats off to them.
cellarrat:
Loving the olives and meat on AR 08. Getting better every year.
jmolesworth:
Arnot-Roberts: very intriguing - pleasantly green hint, light, lively, with invigorating acidity...
oenophile:
@bricksofwine - sure would beat buying bad cocktails/wines on the plane!
brad:
AR is very impressive, and only 11.5 alcohol. bravo!
jmolesworth:
;-) ! don't lie Raj...you know plenty!
noah:
thanks yumsugar. good call
edeitch:
I notice that four of the six wines we're tasting are "sold out." Can you explain?
bricksofwine:
oenophile: I think these 50ml bottles are less than 2 oz. so I say bring 'em onboard.
oenophile:
Going back to the La Pialade after No's 3-4, getting some smoky, bacon aromas.
heyyumsugar:
If i might make a suggestion, it might be good to have the "more details" section open to a new page. When you click on it, it directs you to another page and you lose the live webcast!
sheryllalexander:
Stay in the James Suite. Amazing patio hot tub with hot mineral sulphur water!! WOW!!
sheryllalexander:
GOT to stay at Paso Robles Inn when you are visiting PS!!!
palatepress:
New French oak?
jmolesworth:
in the TB, young Mourvedre tends to come off as less 'full' or flattering...this should flesh out...
bricksofwine:
Tablas Creek...very smooth and approachable. Drinks great now.
venezia:
tastes a little too sweet....
oenophile:
@palatepress - right on with the strawberry-rhubarb!
oenophile:
Speaking of packing a suitcase - I wonder if these new bottles would pass TSA regulations...
wineknow:
some coconut from the oak in the TB
bricksofwine:
Tablas Creek...nice floral aromas
joshua:
<--- from Paso Robles
jmolesworth:
Tablas Creek Esprit Red '06...lovely purity and focus...great length too.
jyadegaran:
Paso is showing well
cellarrat:
TC Esprit seems to have riper fruit than previous years or is that just Bcause we just had French samples?
palatepress:
Rhubarb-strawberry pie nose.
joshua:
ty :-D
sheryllalexander:
running to the kitchen for more glasses....thanks for the history!!
palatepress:
@joshua nice hat.
joshua:
@palatespress you are always allowed to say that
sheryllalexander:
Or one the couch, as in my case.
jyadegaran:
Yummy comes to mind.
jyadegaran:
Yeah. Makes tasting at desk very easy too
palatepress:
Forgive the non-wine speak, but, these taste good. Are we still allowed to say that?
sheryllalexander:
Okay, I couldn't help myself. I opened the next one. GREAT red table wine for just about anything. YES!!
jmolesworth:
I had a back up Font-Sane...musty too...there's a problem there folks...not blowing off...
rickbakas:
This Gigondas makes me feel silly about myself.
wineknow:
these wines are showing well, amazing
bricksofwine:
Very nice smooth tannins on the Font-Sane
noah:
jmolesworth: sorry about that. we'll weed those out better in the future
bricksofwine:
The Font-Sane has some powerful aromas. I get smoked meat.
billward4:
Really chewy
cellarrat:
like the tannins on Font Sane
jyadegaran:
Heheh.
arnotroberts:
can we speed things up?
sheryllalexander:
We are used to ENJOYING!!
joshua:
very informative so far.
cellarrat:
funk is blowing off showing licorice
cellarrat:
must try another bottle sometime
bricksofwine:
Yeah, is there any way to tell these guys to slow down.
jmolesworth:
alas, my Font-Sane is corked...
cellarrat:
Font Sane = wet dog
palatepress:
It's not a race, folks.
bricksofwine:
Lots of ripe fruit flavor.
rickbakas:
This is helpful to hear pronunciation of the producers in the video.
sheryllalexander:
Slow down! Yikes!!
jyadegaran:
Indeed. Inky.
bricksofwine:
Dark like a PS
oenophile:
Lots of black raspberry on the Féraug-Brunel. Amazing the difference between 06 and 07
bricksofwine:
The Féraud is quite different from the La Pialade
jmolesworth:
Féraud-Brunel Côtes du Rhône-Villages '07...a tale of two vintages and house styles...plus more clay than sandy soils.
jmolesworth:
The Pialade '06 shows the telltale sandalwood and rose petal perfume, light but persistent, old school Grenache without and rustic edges...
noah:
good call i think Rick. Quince nails it.
sheryllalexander:
The Pialade would be good with cheese and fresh fruit.
rickbakas:
Quince?
noah:
me too brad!
brad:
one of my favorite properties in the world.
noah:
yes packed left to right, should be at least
arnotroberts:
the pialade is excellent, very bright
jyadegaran:
Thanks Josh
joshua:
@Brixr for twitter
noah:
welcome
rickbakas:
Are these packed left to right in order in the box?
noah:
i'm here
sheryllalexander:
NEED A TWITTER ADDRESS FOR BRIXR ASAP!! HELP!!
jmolesworth:
present...
brad:
Ready to go!
jyadegaran:
Hello all. Boy, the Arnot-Roberts is singing. Gorgeous wine.
bricksofwine:
The bottles are great
palatepress:
Absolutely love the mini-bottles.
michellelocke:
hello!
sheryllalexander:
Hi! I made it to Brixr. Yeah!!
oenophile:
Very happy to be here. Looking good.
rrnumber1:
Exciting to see Brixr being born!
redcarnelle:
yes, we can see and hear you
rickbakas:
I see you! Lookin' good.
cellarrat:
you're live
